Chacco-Blue, ranked No.1 on WBFSH sires ranking for three years in a row since 2018, is the most popular jumping stallion at the moment. Moderately successful as a competitor on the international scene, his time for glory really came in breeding. Chacco-Blue is by Holsteiner stallion Chambertin and on the mother’s side he has Contender, another Holsteiner with many Championship quality offspring. Chambertin did not leave a great number of foals, but the ones he bred were of good type, with good jumping style and were all very careful horses. Paul Schockemöhle, who discovered and bought Chacco-Blue as a youngster said “ok, he could jump, but the best thing was his mentality. He tried always, even if you rode him to 2.50m wall, he couldn’t have jumped it but he would have tried, and this he gave absolutely to all his children”. Alois Pollmann-Schweckhorst who rode Chacco-Blue in his prime, from 2007 to 2010, agrees that the best thing about the bay stallion was his mentality and that he transmits to the next generation a super positive attitude to sport, as well as a wonderful front leg technique. Looking at the results of the progeny of Chacco-Blue it is easy to confirm this! He was the most represented stallion at the EC in 2015 with four offspring and also the most represented at the WEG in 2018, with eight. He is the sire of 75 licensed stallions and many great jumping horses, among them world’s best horse currently, European vice-champion Ben Maher’s Explosion W; fascinating winner for Italian Emanuele Gaudiani, Chalou; EC team gold medalist, Chaqui Z with Shane Sweetnam; member of Canadian national team Eric Lamaze’s Chacco Kid; star of WEG 2018 Rowan Willes’ Blue Movie; winner of NC with German team, Chacco’s son with Maurice Tebbel; Leopold van Astens’ VDL Miss Untouchable, Daniel Deusser’s Calisto Blue, Sergio Alvarez Moya’s Jet Run…the list of top horses by Chacco-Blue, ridden by world class riders seems endless…
